• What types of pumps does Piusi make?

  DC (direct current) pumps run off battery power , typically 12V or 24V vehicle batteries. They're portable, mobile, and suited to applications without mains power. AC (alternating current) pumps run off 240V mains power and are designed for fixed installations like workshops and depots. They generally offer higher flow rates and continuous duty cycles.
  
  
• How do I know which voltage I need?
  Check your vehicle or equipment's electrical system. Most light vehicles, utes, and small agricultural machinery are 12V. Trucks, road trains, buses, and heavy plant typically run 24V. If you're installing a pump in a workshop or depot with mains power, you want 240V AC.
  
  
• What flow rate do I need?
  For occasional drum top-ups or small tanks, 30–50 lpm is more than adequate. For refuelling plant or machinery, or back-to-back refuelling of multiple vehicles, look at 70–90 lpm. Higher flow rates reduce refuelling time but require an appropriate hose bore to avoid restricting flow.
  
  
• Can Piusi pumps handle AdBlue / DEF?
  Standard Piusi vane and gear pumps are not compatible with AdBlue; the fluid is highly corrosive to standard pump materials. Piusi's dedicated AdBlue range (Suzzara Blue series) uses chemical-resistant materials specifically for DEF transfer. Never put AdBlue through a standard diesel pump.
  
  
• Can I use a Piusi pump for petrol/gasoline?
  Most Piusi pumps are designed for diesel. Petrol requires an ATEX or IECEx-rated pump due to its higher flammability. Some models in the Piusi range carry ATEX certification for use with petrol; check individual product specifications or call us to confirm compatibility before purchasing.
